MORSE COOOOODEEEEE

MORSE COOOOODEEEEE

Based on the title, you may recognize two things:

  1. I want to do something with Morse code.
  2. I absolutely love the idea of sending information through beeps and boops.

But there’s one problem… I DON’T KNOW MORSE CODE 🙁

The Plan

I decided to train my brain to recognize those dots and dashes and convert them into text. So how did it go? Well, let’s find out!

My Training Method

I’ve been using lcwo.net to train and learn CW (Morse Code). I’ll be documenting my progress here as I continue this journey.

Progress Updates

  • 22.10.24 – The beginning of this long and tiring journey. Learned the letters K and N.
  • 6.11.24 – After a brief pause (I forgot about it 😅), I revisited CW but learned nothing. Tried to move on to U but couldn’t for some reason.
  • 24.11.24 – Gave U another try but failed again.
  • 4.12.24 – Finally realized how to learn CW effectively. I switched to:
    • 23 WPM speed
    • Effective speed: 11 WPM
    • Practice groups: 7-letter groups
    • Sessions: 2-minute bursts of CW

I also forced myself to commit to 15 minutes of practice daily. This finally paid off:

    • Learned U, R, and barely managed E!

To Be Continued…

The journey will be long, but I am determened to continue!
